Leading golf complex, Morley Hayes gave budding young golfers the chance to learn from the best, after it was selected as the only venue in the county to host the Lee Westwood Golf Academy for the successive year.

Morley Hayes was one of just twelve venues across the UK to host the three-day academy, which gave local children aged between 7 and 16 the chance to learn what it takes to make it to the top from European Tour Professional, Iain Pyman and golf trick shot specialist, Jeremy Dale.

Lee Westwood took up golfing when he was just 13, after being gifted a half set of golf clubs. Since then, he has won 18 events on the European Tour, as well as tournaments in America, Africa, Asia and Australia, establishing himself in the top ten of the World golf ranking

The coaching programme, which has been designed with Lee’s help, covers every aspect of the sport and helps young golfers of any age or ability to improve their game whilst having a lot of fun.

Children at the event were separated into groups based on age, ability and experience. Each group received tuition from a professional golfing instructor and was treated to a special trick shot demonstration by world-renowned expert, Jeremy Dale.
